About MSI Blue Lava

Blue Lava is a striking blue-toned natural quartzite from MSI Surfaces — one of the hardest natural stones used for countertops, harder than granite and very heat-tolerant. Blue movement works as a true statement surface.

It anchors the room from a distance and rewards a closer look with real depth. Plenty of Palm Beach County kitchens land on it when they want something refined that still lives easily day to day.

Blue Lava is a natural stone, so each slab is one of a kind. We seal it on installation, and with periodic resealing it stands up well to everyday use.

Given a little routine care, natural stone holds up to everything a South Florida kitchen sees — humidity, citrus, sunscreen, red wine — and develops character over time. We hand you a simple care routine when we are done.

Design & Application

Where Blue Lava works best

Blue Lava works beautifully on a big island, a long perimeter run, or a full-height backsplash that becomes the room's focal point. It pairs well with white or pale-gray cabinets, polished-nickel hardware, and a feature island.

We commonly fabricate it with a mitered edge for a thick, modern profile or a simple eased edge for a cleaner transitional look, and it makes a striking waterfall island end.
